The La Salle Athletic Department announced today that the 2018-19 JV Coach, Mark Specker '11, was promoted to Varsity Head Swimming and Diving Coach; filling the position vacated by Mike Lienhart's '86 retirement.

Mark has been an Assistant Swimming Coach at La Salle for four seasons. This past season he was the JV Coach working primarily with the JV team development.

"Mike Lienhart has led the swimming and diving program at La Salle for many years," said La Salle Athletic Director Jim Barre. "Mike has had Mark Specker as his assistant for 4 years and now is the time for Mark to take over the reins. We are very confident that the program is in good hands."

Mark swam while a student at La Salle, qualifying for the State Championship in 2011 and a State Alternate in 2010. He also swam for the University of Cincinnati Club Swim program from 2013-2015.

Mark graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2015 with a BS in Architecture and in 2018 with a Masters in Architecture. He currently works for K4 Architecture. He and wife Katie live in Colerain Township. They are members of St. James parish.
