La Salle Sophomore Eric Thompson, Jr. will be awarded the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "Keep the Dream Alive" Award as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. ceremonies on Monday, January 15.
Eric, with four friends, established Sole Bros, Inc during their 8th grade year. Since the inception of Sole Bros Inc, they have shipped over 3,000 pairs of shoes.
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "Keep the Dream Alive" Award was created by late Bro. Hugh Henderson C.PP.S. to recognize individuals who have served our local community by demonstrating the servant leadership of Dr. King.
The award ceremony will take place at 3:00 pm at The Church of the Resurrection, 1619 California Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45237. The Master of Ceremonies will be Mr. Courtis Fuller and the Key Note Speaker will be Judge Fanon Rucker. The award ceremony is part of an all-day celebration of Dr. King's life and leadership organized by the MLK Coalition and is free and open to the public.
Founded in 2015, Sole Bros Inc. is a 501.c3 non-profit with a mission to INSPIRE a generation and change the world by increasing the self esteem of youth by gifting them with quality sneakers. For more information and to get involved, visit www.solebrosinc.org.
