La Salle is a Catholic school founded in the Lasallian tradition. Lancers receive a Lasallian education based on the teachings of St. John Baptist de La Salle. He grasped the utter importance of an education and devoted his life to making schools available to young men who would have been deprived of this opportunity. St. John Baptist de La Salle perpetuated his vision that a complete education should include the person's body, mind, and spirit by founding the Brothers of Christian Schools. The Christian Brothers are the largest teaching order in the Catholic Church specifically devoted to the Christian education of youth.
At La Salle, everyone is a Campus Minister and everyone shares in our mission to build community, reach out in loving service, and grow in and practice our faith. Under the direction of the school's administration, Campus Ministry Office, and the Religion Department; students, their families, alumni and our faculty and staff are encouraged to embrace the teachings of the Gospel and of St. John Baptiste de La Salle. Catholic students and students of every denomination and faith can grow in their religious understanding through religion classes and retreats that, while being offered from the Catholic perspective, respect all faith traditions.
