Four Lancers have been nominated for Cincinnati.com Sports Awards. These awards recognize and honor the top athletic accomplishments in Greater Cincinnati High School Sports. Three Lancers are nominated for their Athlete of the Year in their respective sport while one has been nominated for a premier award.

Griffin Merritt has been nominated for the premier award Mr. Greater Cincinnati Athlete of the Year. Griffin is a four year football and baseball athlete and has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball for the University of Cincinnati. Read the press release for Griffin's Signing Day.

Josh Whyle has been nominated for the Football- Big School Division Athlete of the Year. Josh is a four year football and three year basketball athlete and has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football for the University of Cincinnati. Read the press release for Josh's Signing Day.

Riley Haubner has been nominated for the Basketball- Big School Division Athlete of the Year. Riley is a four year basketball athlete who has not decided on his post-secondary plans.

Lucas Byrd has been nominated for the Wrestling Athlete of the Year. Lucas has a distinguished career in wrestling with having one more year of high school competition. He qualified for the State Wrestling Championship for three years with a State Championship title this year, becoming the second Lancer to earn an individual State Wrestling Championship in school history.

The award ceremony will be held on Monday, April 23 at Cincinnati Music Hall. The Keynote Speaker is former Cincinnati Bengal, A.J. Green.
