Nick Rockey Named NMS Commended Student
We are excited to announce that senior Nicholas Rockey has been named a Commended Student in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.
Nick is an officer with La Salle's Key Club and a member of the Film Club. He's a three-sport athlete participating on the cross country, wrestling and track teams. In addition to being so involved in school activities and sports, as well as membership in the Lasallian Scholars Institute, he managed to earn 115 hours of service work and has a goal to complete more than 200 hours by the school year's end.
Nick hopes to study nursing at The Ohio State University and eventually work in the medical field.
Although Commended students will not continue in the 2020 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, they placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2020 competition by taking the 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). That is something to cheer about!
Congratulations Nick. We are so proud of you!
