Meet the new Employees at La Salle
Meet Josh Dooley, our new Science Teacher.
Josh worked as a chemist at a flavor company for five years. He also taught science for four years at Colerain High School. He currently coaches cross country and track at Madeira High School.
Meet Trey Aultman, new English Teacher.
Prior to joining the La Salle team Trey spent two years teaching English at Archbishop McNicholas High School.
Meet Emily Buckley, new Director of Marketing & PR.
Emily spent 10 years managing communications and public relations for the Oak Hills Local School District. She also coordinated all of the marketing and fundraising efforts and events for the Oak Hills Alumni & Educational Foundation. Prior to her time at Oak Hills she worked in the non-profit sector and held training and marketing roles with the Nielsen company. She's a graduate of Miami University.
Meet Robert Stimmel, our new Drama Program Director.
Robert is currently serving as the Artistic Director for his founded company, Impaired Vision Productions, a theatrical company focused on producing new works and showcasing new artists. He is also currently working at Cincinnati Shakespeare Company as their Master Carpenter. He has performed as an actor with many professional companies in the Cincinnati area and across the country including Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Short North Stage and many others
Welcome Bob Fritz, Algebra 1 & Geometry Teacher
Bob joins us from Princeton City School District where he taught math for 14 years. He's a triathlete and a runner. He enjoys reading and taking small vacations to races.
Welcome Ian Gunn, new Art Teacher.
Born and raised a west sider, Ian graduated from Thomas More University Dance Team with a degree in Graphic Design. He was also the captain of the football team his senior year.
This is his second year as an educator. He started his career working as a graphic designer. He is a film and music buff. Just ask about his rare vinyl collection.
Meet Sophia Kostoff, new Spanish Teacher.
With a background in linguistics and language education, she previously taught at Riverview East Academy, Finneytown High School and Alliance Academy. She has international teaching experience having taught in Spain, Germany, Japan and Guatemala. She is a professional translator and interpreter. She's also held non-profit management positions, as well as done linguistic research in the corporate sector.
She speaks Spanish, French and German.
Meet Chris Majors, new Intervention Specialist and Varsity Football Coach.
Chris spent the last two years at Archbishop Moeller High School as an Intervention Specialist. Prior to that he taught at Norwood City School District.
Meet Brian Meyer '00, our new Athletic Director.
Prior to joining the La Salle team Brian served as athletic director at Purcell Marian High School, Clark Montessori High School and Western Hills High School. Prior to that he was a recreation supervisor for Anderson Township Park District. Brian has coached volleyball at both Turpin High School and La Salle.
Meet Matt McLaughlin, new English Teacher and Head Varsity Volleyball Coach.
Matt spent his first 10 years teaching various levels of English at Archbishop Moeller High School. He also worked in the Admissions Office and was head varsity volleyball coach there.
Matt will be teaching freshman, sophomore and senior English classes at La Salle.
Meet Leslie Porter new Chemistry, Forensics and Environmental Science Teacher.
Originally from Dayton, OH Leslie taught the last two years at Anderson High School. She taught Chemistry, Physics and Physical Science. She shared that she's the only person in her family without an engineering degree.
She recently received the Governor's Thomas Edison Award for Excellence in STEM Education and Student Research from the Ohio Academy of Science! The award is given to teachers who stimulate scientific student research and extend opportunities beyond traditional classroom activities. Teachers must empower students in STEM education through project-based learning, collaboration, innovation, critical thinking and problem-solving. We're lucky to have her on our team!
Leslie has moved every summer for the last seven years and is now happy to be settled in Norwood.
Meet Trish Miller, our new Associate Principal!
She attended Ursuline Academy of Cincinnati,Northwestern University (where she played lacrosse), Xavier University and received her Master's degree from University of Cincinnati. Prior to becoming an administrator she taught high school math and history.
Meet Kathy Moroney, returning Language Arts Intervention Specialist.
Kathy worked in education for 32+ years, teaching on the high school (Greenhills/Winton Woods, Cincinnati Christian, and La Salle) and college levels Purdue University, Miami University, and University of Cincinnati).
She taught English at La Salle for 15 years before retirement. After retiring, she started her own tutoring business, and La Salle has been gracious in allowing me to teach an ACT Prep Course.
