Back-to-School Reminders: 8/24/20
School starts on Wednesday, August 26 and we are looking forward to having our students back on campus. Here are some important back-to-school reminders as we prepare for our first day.
Health and safety:
If your son tests positive for COVID-19 or is showing symptoms of the coronavirus at any time during the school year, please notify our school nurse, Susan Geoppinger, by email or phone call 513-741-2302 immediately.
Students will receive an email to complete an online health assessment prior to arriving at school each day. They will be required to show their completed form to staff members upon entry into the building. All students must wear a cloth facial covering while on school grounds.
If you ordered uniforms or spirit wear items from our online pop-up shop you will receive an email from USports when it is ready to be picked up. We are expecting a delivery tomorrow. The school Spirit Shop will be open on Tuesday, August 25 from 11:00am - 1:30pm for students and families to pick up their orders before the first day of classes.
Students may park in any parking spot below the light pole in the back and lower lots of our school during the first week of classes. Parking passes will be provided to those who have requested and paid for them during the first week. As a reminder, all students, regardless of how they arrive at school (walking, carpool, driving, drop off or bus), must enter the school through the courtyard entrance.
Upperclassmen can check the Misc Information link in PowerSchool for their locker information. They may quickly go to their locker before the beginning of the first class each day to drop off their belongings. Freshmen will be given time during their first bell classes on Wednesday to locate their lockers and practice their combination. Freshman families should contact Jake Pucci if you have additional concerns prior to the first day.
Your student’s lunch code, assignment and seat is in PowerSchool on the new Misc Information page. Make sure he knows which lunch area he will be going to (cafeteria or gym) and knows his assigned seat number. He must sit in his assigned area and seat (marked on the lunch tables) due to health department restrictions to keep everyone safe.
Make sure he knows his lunch code for lunch (also on the Misc Information page) if he plans on purchasing anything in the cafeteria. We can accept cash, but change will not be given, the balance will be added to his lunch account. It’s easiest to pre-load your account and then he can use his lunch code.
The upperclassmen school IDs for 2020-21 will continue to be the ones that were distributed to them last school year. Freshman school IDs will be distributed to them shortly after their school pictures are taken. School IDs need to be worn at all times during the school day. Remember, there is a $20 fee for replacement ID. If your son lost his ID, he should report to the Help Desk for a new one.
Rules and Regulations:
A few things have changed in the student handbook since last school year to ensure we are keeping our students and employees safe. If you want to look up any of the policies, click on the link and do a quick search and read up on it.
Summer Assignments Completed:
Make sure your son’s summer assignments are completed.
La Salle’s 2020-21 student and staff picture day is scheduled for Monday, August 31. Students will report to the Media Center during their Religion class to be photographed in their school uniform (ties are not required) by a Lifetouch photographer. You may order your son's school pictures through Lifetouch at lifetouch.com. The La Salle school code to reference is: EVT9C2NKS. Please submit your picture order to Lifetouch prior to Monday, August 31.
We will be sharing more information regarding attendance and COVID-19 policies for upcoming sporting events soon. Our athletic department is working to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all players and fans.
