Shie Wins Post Season National Title!
Freshman Corey Shie continues to improve and garner titles as he traveled to Cedar Falls, Iowa over the weekend capturing the USA Wrestling Cadet National Championship.  To read more click on the title.

6th criteria decides State Dual outcome
The highly anticipated State dual match vs. St.X last night was a battle from beginning to end.  Each match was intense and competitive, in many ways a chess match.  Both program's tried to stack their line up to create their best "match ups" The match ended with a 34-34 tie and went to criteria, where both programs mirrored one another. The sixth criteria broke the tie which advanced St.X to the next round. Winners included Corey Shie (FF), John Shirkey, Eric Beck, Alex Kowal, Joe Krieder, Sam Krieder (FF).

Shie SHINES at Top Gun!
Freshman Corey Shie continues to improve as the season progresses. Last weekend Corey captured his most prestigious title to date "Top Gun Champion". Corey went 5-0 and along with his 120 crown, he was voted Most Outstanding wrestler in a field of 500 participants. John Shirkey finished 4th at 132 going 5-2, freshman Eric Beck placed 7th at 106. 

Lancers open wrestling season on a high note
On Saturday, Nov. 30th the varsity wrestling team traveled to national power Yorktown ranked 9th in the country to open their season. The Lancers defeated Monrovia 62-18 and Western Boone 55-15 and lost a host Yorktown 22-45.

The Lancers advanced to the championship bracket where they lost to national power #11 New Palatine 25-39 in the semi-finals. In their final match the Lancers fell to Bellmont 37-39 and finished 4th overall.

Outstanding performances were turned in by freshman Corey Shie, sophomore Sam Krieder, junior John Shirkey, and senior Robert Overbeck. All 4 went 5-0 on the day!

The Lancers will travel to Oak Hills for a Super-Tri next Friday, Dec.6th to face local rivals Lakota East, Lebanon, and host Oak Hills.

Six seniors make college decision
It was a bright morning for six seniors as they made their college decision.  Among the group, four will play baseball. Ben Frizzell (Pitcher) and Nick Boardman (Outfielder) will stay in town and play at Mount Saint Joe. Alex Dickey (Pitcher / Infielder) will head out of state to Indiana and play for Wabash College in Crawfordsville, while Eric Schrand (Pitcher/Infielder) will head to North to Findlay University.  Kevin Fox (Defense) will continue his lacrosse career at Wheeling Jesuit, and Dylan Barnett (Defensive Back) will head to Centre College to play football.

Longtime Volunteer Larry Fuller is honored by SWDAB
Larry Fuller,  La Salle class of 1974 was awarded the "Friend of Athletics" by the Southwest District Athletic Board during the District basketball finals on March 15 at the Cintas Center.  Larry has been a loyal supporter and volunteer since his graduation from La Salle nearly 40 years ago. 

Larry has volunteered working the gates for football and basketball games. He can also be counted on to sell split the pot tickets at our Camelot, Auction, and Sports Stag.
