Northern Kentucky University is offering the Balanced Man Scholarships (3) to outstanding freshman males entering Northern Kentucky University in the fall.  See

Izaak Walton League of America offers a scholarship to a high school senior residing in the Northwest Local School District or the Mt. Healthy school District and is entering the conservation, ecology or related field.  See Mrs. Russo in Guidance for application.  Deadline is May 1, 2008.

 

Cincinnati Better Business Bureau is offering five $1000 scholarships to current Juniors who will graduate in 2009.  Scholarship is based on a written essay: “Describe an ethical situation you have faced on one of the following areas of your life: family, work, school or community.”  Grades do not matter.  It’s all about the essay.  See Mrs. Russo for all the information.  Deadline is May 19, 2008.

 

Raymond Walters College is offering the Academic Achievement Scholarship which will be awarded automatically to incoming freshmen who rank in the top 25% of their high school graduating class and enroll as full-time degree seeking students.  There is no additional scholarship application, essay or interview required. 
Qualifications: apply to Raymond Walters, confirm admission by July 1, 2008, have a final transcript sent to school.

 

The College of Applied Science at the University of Cincinnati is offering a $1,000 scholarship to each of the first 180 freshmen entering one of the college’s baccalaureate degree programs in the fall quarter of 2008.  Come to Guidance for details.

 

Miami Heights Civic Association is awarding 4 $800 scholarships to commendable students who reside in Miami Heights.  Guidance has applications.

 

Big Sun Organization offers an annual scholarship to a deserving student.  All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.
Must be a high school senior and must send a 500 word essay describing why you should be the winner of this award.  All essay submissions should be sent to: athleticawards@bigsunathletics.com.  Deadline is June 20, 2008

 

Catholic Women of Cincinnati is offering five $1,500 college tuition scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year.  Any Catholic high school student, male or female, who lives in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, may apply.  Applicants need not attend a Catholic high school, but they must be actively practicing their faith.  Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, financial need, volunteer service and active, practicing Catholic status.  Applicants must be ranked in the top half of their class.  Go to website www.cincinnaticatholicwomen.org for the application.

DeSales University offers a guaranteed scholarship of $10,000 over four years to all graduates of Catholic High Schools.

Grant C. Alexander Scholarship Foundation gives up four (4) $1,000 awards to academically worthy and financially eligible students attending non-proprietary college full-time.  See Mrs. Russo for application and all details.  

 

William D. Squires Educational Foundation offers scholarships to 2008 graduating Ohio residents.  This is a financial need-based scholarship.  Application is available on line. www.wmd-squires-foundation.org.  Guidance also has applications.

 

Hoxworth Blood Center will award six $1000 scholarships to graduating seniors from the from the Tri-state area including, Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana, who excel in the following categories: academics, community service activities (with specific emphasis on the applicants involvement in the community blood program), school-related activities and an essay on the topic, “The Value of Blood Donation as a Personal and Community Responsibility.”
Note: This scholarship is not intended as an inducement for individual student blood donations, nor will an award be considered if the application is based solely on the personal donation of blood.

The Cincinnati Chapter of the Ohio Credit Union League will award nine scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each.
To qualify: Must be a high school senior and plan to participate in post-secondary studies, including professional, vocational and academic studies that are not limited to colleges and universities.  Must also be a member of a credit union in Hamilton, Adams, Clermont or Brown counties.  Account must be in student’s name.

University of Cincinnati is offering the Darwin T. Turner Scholarship for academically talented students of color.  Requirements are: (1) Be American Indian/Alaska Native, Black, Asian/Pacific Islander or Hispanic. (2) Be a permanent resident in the State of Ohio. (3) Bea graduating high school senior. (4) Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0. (5) Have an ACT score of 24 and/or an SAT score of 1070.
(6) Be accepted in a four year matriculating degree program at UC.

Lewis University is offering the Lewis University Lasallian High School Scholarship in the amount of $1000 for the 2008-2009 academic year to graduates of Lasallian high schools who choose to enroll at Lewis University in Romeo Illinois.

General Electric Credit Union  is offering the Robert A. Cunningham Memorial Scholarship.  Five graduating, college-bound students will receive a one-time award of $2,000.  This scholarship is based on volunteerism.    Guidance has applications.

 

Mensa Education and Research Foundation annual scholarship essay contest is now open to any person enrolled or accepted for enrollment at an accredited American institution for post secondary education for the 2007-2008 academic year.
